What a heavy metals test answers
Whether the sample carries elemental impurities. Metals are invisible to HPLC and to mass confirmation of the peptide, so a sample can pass identity and purity and still contain them.
How we run it
Elemental impurities are measured by ICP-MS, which detects elements at trace levels, and each element on the panel is reported with its own result.
What the certificate reports
- A result for each element on the panel
- Method and the named analyst
- A COA number anyone can check at Verify a COA
How to order
- Create a free account. Individual or business; an individual account needs only an email address.
- Build the order and submit it. One row per sample. Choose a package that includes heavy metals, or add it to any sample.
- Get your chain-of-custody form and payment link. Both are emailed the moment you submit and saved on the order in your account.
- Post the vials. Write each Sample ID on its vial and on the package, and add your tracking number to the order.
Sample requirements
For lyophilized powder, 2 mg or more per vial is ideal; we can usually work with less and will tell you before we start if the amount is marginal. For reconstituted solution, send at least 0.5 mL. This test is subdivided from the same vial as the sample’s other tests. Pro 7X takes two vials of the same sample, because it includes sterility.
Questions
Which elements are on the panel?
Every element tested is listed on the certificate with its own result. If your work depends on a specific element, email the lab before you order and we will tell you plainly whether the panel covers it.
Does it share a vial with other tests?
Yes. Heavy metals is subdivided from the same vial as identity, purity and the other chromatography tests.
